NYX Round Lipsticks

I'M BAAACCCKKK!!! Lol. Sorry for not posting for over 4 months! Been busy with everything so please forgive me. Anyway, this is a quick post about the NYX Round Lipsticks.

L-R: Pure Nude, Tea Rose, Femme, Pumpkin Pie, Mars and Fig

I posted this on my Instagram (cindypurisima) and thought I should make a quick review and swatches of the lipsticks since they're quite nice and really inexpensive too!

Pardon my flaky arm! We went to the beach two weeks ago that's why arm's kind of flaky. Lol

LIKES:
           >Inexpensive.
           >Good color payoff.
           >Wide variety of shades.
           >Not so cheap looking considering it's only P150.

DISLIKES:
           >MELTS LIKE CRAZY!
           >You can get this thru online shops only.

Overall, for P150 this is a really good product. I will definitely repurchase more shades! =)

Fanny Serrano Eyeliners: Gel vs Liquid

Hi guys! I'm back with a review and comparison on Fanny Serrano Gel Eyeliner and Waterproof Liquid Liner. I can say that Fanny Serrano is my favorite local brand. I love their powder and concealer. It is pricier compared to other local brands but it's definitely worth it given that the products are amazing.

Let's start with the Gel Eyeliner (P225).

FS Gel Eyeliner (P225) FS Small Eyeliner Brush (P75)

The product is nicely housed in a glass pot and plastic cover. Obviously, you need to have a separate eyeliner brush in order to use this product. For P225, you'll get a lot of product.

This is quite difficult and messy to use especially if you're not used to applying gel eyeliners. You can see that I've already used this product a lot and I can say that it's okay. This is a lot creamier than the Maybelline one which I think is okay since it's not going to dry up easily.

As you can see, it's kinda hard to achieve a straight, clean line. I'm no expert in applying gel eyeliners so forgive me. But if you can do it perfectly, then good for you. And oh, the most important part, is it smudge proof? Does it stay long? Hmm. I say not really. I have oily lids and it smudges on me after 4 hours given that I used primer underneath. But if you have dry lids, we may have a different experience on this one.

(P195)

On the other hand, there's FS Long Last Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner which is a little cheaper than the Gel Eyeliner. This is a felt tip liquid liner which of course, easier to use. I have to say that this is my favorite felt tip liner so far. I've been using this everyday since the day I got it.

It's easier to create a thin, clean and straight line with this product. I love it. Okay, is it really waterproof? I say yes. I put my hand in running water and it didn't come off. I have to use soap and rub several times until it's completely invisible. It lasts on me the whole day too.

So obviously, the Liquid Eyeliner won in terms of affordability and quality. Please note that this is my personal opinion and experience. We might have a completely different approach on both products. So ladies, have you tried any of the two? What do you think? :)

Watsons Haul!

And yet another haul post... I just got home from an awesome day with my girlfriends and of course, what's a girl bonding moment without buying kikay stuff? :) I don't really intend to buy more makeup since I believe that what I have is more than enough for my personal use, but I can't help it. It's like they're calling my name, asking me to buy them (OK that was exagge). Here are the items that I got...

Maybelline Pure Pact Mineral Foundation

I was eyeing on this powder for a few days now, so when I saw that Maybelline is having a sale (30% off), I immediately picked this one out. The refill (P449) and the compact (P250) is sold seperately. Total price is P699 but since I got it on sale, I think I only paid P450++.

The compact looks really nice! I love the color.

I got the shade OC1. I believe it's the lightest shade.

James Cooper Cream Foundation (P550)

I've been reading a lot of reviews saying that this foundation is the bomb when it comes to full, flawless coverage! I don't really have nice skin that's why I prefer full coverage foundations. I have yet to try this one out! Hope it'll not disappoint!

CF-04
Thank God it didn't have oil bubbles(?)! Haha! Sorry I do not know the correct term but if you read dianejanica's blog post on this one, you'll probably get what I mean. :)

Elf Essential Eye Brushes (P130 each) Elf Studio Line Powder Brush (P250)

For the record, I already have these brushes. All three of them! The two eye brushes were actually the first eye brushes that I own. I gave them to my mom the day I got my first brush set. I can say that they were actually good and I just had to repurchase... Meanwhile, I already posted a mini haul with the powder brush in it I think more than a month ago. Apparently, the brush that I got is not properly glued to the ferrule that's why half of the hair came off so I decided to get another one.

NON-MAKEUP ITEMS

Neutrogena Cleanser

I wanted to get the biggest size of this cleanser (the one with the pump), but unfortunately it's out of stock.

Nothing spectacular. Just cotton squares.

And finally, this a freebie you'll get when you spend P1000 above at Watsons. They made me choose between pink, blue and green. Of course, I got pink (OBVIOUSLY)! This is a vanity bag that opens up like this:

You can actually hang this one. It is also spacious and has a mini compartment at the top. This is great for traveling.

Whew! That was quite long! How about you guys? What are the beauty items you recently got? :)

St. James Bazaar Haul!

Another haul post... These are the items I got over the weekend at the St. James Bazaar held in Ayala Alabang Village.

28 Neutral Palette (P750)

I got this at the Beauty Cosmetics stall for P750. Their palettes are actually cheaper than other brands. They also sell a wide variety of brushes. Anyway, I wanted to get this palette for a long time now and I am very happy I already did! I absolutely love the colors! Perfect for everyday makeup. :) The quality is nice, though some of the shadows are quite powdery.

Charm Luxe Flat Top Brush (P600)

I am very glad to own this baby! Really good quality. I actually want to get another one soon. :)

Beauty Cosmetics Stippling Brush (P300)

I bought this together with the 28 Neutral Palette. I was just intrigued with this because this brush is really cheap. Well, it didn't disappoint! Love this brush!

Nyx Round Lipstick in Tea Rose (P180)

I finally own Tea Rose! This baby is sold out during the Supersale Bazaar!

So those are the makeup items. I also bought a very cute black sling bag and a few shorts. I wanted to explore the whole place but the heat and crowd is unbearable! Oh well, there's still a whole lot of bazaars coming before Christmas, right? :) Till next time!

Supersale Bazaar Haul!

I expect the bazaar to be as big as the previous ones last year but nah, there's not much stalls... Anyway, I wanted to buy clothes but you know how it is in bazaars... It's so crowded and you can't really fit the clothes! Good thing there's AC so everything's okay. Here are the things I got:

Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation and Pressed Powder

This is not locally available so I'm very happy I found this! This is my favorite combo as of the moment. :)

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Blush

Nyx Round Lipstick in Fig

Maybelline Eyestudio Trio in Neutral Liaisons

I love the colors of this trio but was quite disappointed when I found out that they were actually cream shadows... Still, beautiful combination of neutral colors.

I bought all of these in one store only... They sell makeup straight from the US that's why the products are 30-50% cheaper. I'll make a detailed review on the Fit Me liquid foundation since I really like it... So that's it for my mini haul! Till next time!

BAKING 2011

So after my long and picture-heavy post about my Culinary escapade, let me share with you guys my Baking experience. After graduating last October 2010, I decided to pursue a Baking course since it'll be a great advantage if I finished both courses. I enrolled May of this year with the same school (Global Culinary and Hospitality Academy) and finished 3 months later. I am very glad that I took up a Baking course because of the mouth-watering desserts I have learned. :) So without further ado, I present to you SOME of the desserts I have made. Lol!

Soft Rolls

Creme Brulee

Fruit Tart

Apple Pie

Chocolate Truffles

Cheddar Herb Scones and Banana Bread

Coffee Macarons

Mille Feuille

Tart Tatin

Blueberry Cheesecake

I am craving for all of these right now!!! I wish I could post everything I have baked but this post will be way too loooooong already!!! Haha! Anyway, thanks for reading! Makeup post next! :)

Culinary Days

As I said on my previous post, I finished Professional Culinary Arts at Global Culinary and Hospitality Academy. I never thought that I'd end up taking this course since I don't really cook. The desire towards food started when my mom was constantly watching Iron Chef America every weekend that I found myself getting hooked to the show too. I asked my parents if I could just take up Culinary Arts instead of finishing my course (I was in 2nd year college taking up BS-IHM that time). Luckily, my parents agreed and so I took up the course! :)

During my graduation last year.

Some of the dishes taught to us:

Chicken Blanquette

Pork Loin with Polenta and Sauce Chasseur

Fish and Chips with Tartar Sauce

Fillets of Sole and Spinach Mousse in White Wine Sauce

Chicken Supreme with Mashed Potato in Olive Oil and Balsamic Reduction

There's still more!!! Sadly, I don't have a picture of them anymore. :( Anyway, the whole course consists of 4 levels (1 month per each level). Upon finishing level 4, we had this 'culminating activity' called Restaurant Week that'll run for 3 days in which we will be the guest, server and cook. I tell you, when it was my team's turn as cooks, it's like Hell's Kitchen! Hahaha!

Appetizer: Fresh Caprese Skewers

Prosciutto Salad

Vongole Negra

Palette Cleanser: Watermelon Granita

Main Course: Chicken Roulade

Dessert: Tiramisu

Peace! Haha!

Whew! I really am nostalgic right now! T'was fun reminiscing and sharing these photos with you guys! Next post: Baking!? Yes? :)
